Approval of the Federal Equitable Sharing Agreement between Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office and the Federal Government (U.S. Dept of Justice)
BACKGROUND
The agreement is effective for three (3) years from October 01, 2006 thru September
30, 2008. (The agreement was previously approved through Commissioners' Court
on June 01, 2005; however, due to a change in the governing body (County Judge),
a new sharing agreement must be submitted.)
The agreement sets forth the requirements for participating in the Federal Equitable
Sharing Program and the restrictions upon the use of federally forfeited cash,
property, etc., including that equitably shared funds be used to increase--not
supplant--the resources of the receiving agency.
