1. Requesting exemption from competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Texas Local Government Code 262.024 (a)(7)(A) an item that can only be obtained from one source because of the existence of patents, copyrights, secret processes or monopolies;

2. Acceptance and approval of the sole source Declaration for Becton, Dickenson Diagnostics System with authority to purchase through a purchase order for the total amount of $42,959.00CDBG-CV Other Public Services funds will be used for the purchase of the equipment for the CDBG-CV Health Facility.

The Hidalgo County Urban County Program requested quotes for the purchase of BD BACTEC MGIT 320 Instrument for the CDBG-CV Health Facility (Bio Safety Lab).  It was determined that Becton, Dickenson Diagnostics System was the sole provider of said instrument, therefore, a sole source declaration was requested and approved by the Purchasing Department.  Becton, Dickenson Diagnostics is a Publicly Trade Company and
has provided an unsworn declaration instead of an HB1295 form.
