SUMMARY
Adopt the ordinance to amend 2-1-5, Council Compensation.
Recommendation
ADOPT ORDINANCE NO. 2022-1527, AMENDING GOODYEAR CITY CODE SECTION 2-1-5 (COUNCIL COMPENSATION), PROVIDING FOR CORRECTIONS; SEVERABILITY; AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (Darcie McCracken, City Clerk)
FISCAL IMPACT
The passage of this ordinance has no fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
The City Charter was approved by the voters at the March 9, 2021 Election and signed by Governor Ducey on May 18, 2021. City Charter Article II, Section 11, (C) states "...The recommendations of the committee shall be accepted or rejected by the City Council." With the passage of Ordinance 2021-1515 on August 23, 2021, the words "by resolution" were erroneously included in the language. In actuality, the Council will determine with a vote of "aye" or "nay" to accept or reject the recommendation.
