FISCAL IMPACT
Capital Improvement Project (CIP) 35007 has a budget of $580,410 for the procurement of the Telecommunications console build-outs. The remaining expenditure of $362,756 will be funded from the police department’s one-time funds in the FY23 budget. This money is part of an approved budget supplemental to add telecommunication positions.
BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS
Per city of Goodyear Resolution 08-1255, all expenditures of budgeted funds in excess of $500,000 must obtain Council approval.
The purchase of five new telecommunication console radios were identified in CIP 35007, and the replacement of eight radios was approved in a supplemental for FY23 budget.

STAFF ANALYSIS
Motorola Solutions is the sole source vendor for the State of Arizona. This purchase is using the state cooperative rate Goodyear contract #20-5313/Arizona State contract #CTR046830 for communications equipment.
The purchase of the radios is required for the telecommunications consoles to support the Motorola standard equipment upgrade, scheduled for mid-year 2023. The purchase also supports the build out of consoles for the three new positions approved in FY23.
