FISCAL IMPACT

The FY2022 Capital Improvement Program has an available budget of $3,600,000 for this project’s design received from a state grant.

BACKGROUND AND PREVIOUS ACTIONS

Staff presented the Camelback Road Corridor Assessment Report to Council (CAR 2021-7163ws) at the work session on February 22, 2021.  The project was added to the FY2021-26 CIP with the design phase as a FY2022 project.

STAFF ANALYSIS

An engineering consulting firm was selected through a qualification-based selection process to design and prepare construction documents for full roadway improvements to Camelback Road from SR303 to 152nd Avenue.  The design phase will take approximately 18 months. This effort will also include a real estate acquisition strategy for preparing legal descriptions, title reports, and associated efforts needed to acquire the project’s real estate needs.  The engineering fee includes design, preparation of construction documents, project management, multi-agency coordination, real estate activities and other associated tasks.
