RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Mr. Adrian Sanchez as heir and estate of Ms. Staci Bowman in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
On April 22, 2024, an attorney representing Mr. Adrian Sanchez filed a wrongful death claim in the death of his girlfriend, Ms. Staci Bowman. The claim alleges that on November 4, 2023, Mr. Adrian Sanchez (claimant) and Ms. Staci Bowman (decedent) were traveling eastbound on La Habra Boulevard at the intersection of La Habra Boulevard and Euclid Street and were struck by another vehicle traveling northbound on Euclid Street. The claimant alleges that the roadway where the incident occurred constituted a dangerous condition.
