APPROVE AND ADOPT A RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE RESULTS OF THE NOVEMBER 5, 2024, GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION

RECOMMENDATION:


That the City Council APPROVE AND ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. CC 2024-__ ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA HABRA, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024, DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW.

DISCUSSION:

The November 5, 2024, General Municipal Election was held for the purpose of La Habra voters to elect three full term members to the La Habra City Council, as well as to vote on local ballot Measure V. Election Code Section 10262 requires the City to pass a resolution reciting the facts of the municipal election following the canvass and certification of the election by the Orange County Registrar of Voters. The Orange County Registrar of Voters certified the election results on December 3, 2024 (Exhibit A).

The results of the election for Member of the La Habra City Council and local ballot Measure V are as follows:

The results, as certified by the Orange County Registrar of Voters, affirm that Daren Nigsarian, Rose Espinoza, and Delwin "Del" Lampkin were elected as Members of the La Habra City Council for the full term of four years each, and that the local ballot Measure V was approved by the voters. Attached to the resolution is the certified statement of results of the election, including Measure V, as provided by the Orange County Registrar of Voters.

FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:

There is no fiscal impact associated with the certification of the election results.
