| SUBJECT: | CITY OF LA HABRA RESPONSE TO THE JUNE 23, 2022, ORANGE COUNTY GRAND JURY REPORT TITLED "HOW IS ORANGE COUNTY ADDRESSING HOMELESSNESS?"

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council receive and file the report and direct staff to send the response letter to the Orange County Grand Jury.
DISCUSSION:
On June 23, 2022, the Orange County Grand Jury issued a report regarding the state of homelessness in Orange County entitled "How is Orange County Addressing Homelessness?" The report is is found online at https://www.ocgrandjury.org/pdfs/2021_2022_GJreport/2022-06-23_How_is_Orange_County_Adressing_Homelessness.pdf, and is included for reference as Attachment A.
Pursuant to Penal Code 933.05(a) and (b), the City of La Habra, along with all other Orange County cities and several Orange County agencies, are required to respond to the report's findings and recommendations that are specific to their respective agencies, by September 21, 2022. The City's proposed response is included for review as Attachment B. In the event the City Council approves the proposed letter, staff will submit the City's response to the Grand Jury by or before the required deadline.
