B. Approve and authorize the recordation of a Deed of Easement with the Orange County Clerk-Recorder.
DISCUSSION:
The property owner at 920 West La Habra Boulevard, site of the recently approved 21-unit Our Lady of Guadalupe Apartments, is in the process of developing the site which includes a 10-foot wide easement between Walker Avenue and Third Street to install a six-inch water line. This connection will loop the existing dead-end lines at the east ends of Walker Avenue and Third Avenue. Upon City Council approval, the City will accept the easement and assume responsibility for the ongoing maintenance of the associated water infrastructure.
FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
There is a future cost for the City to accept the easement dedication; however, it would be considered marginal. Once dedicated to the City, this new water line is expected to have a service life of approximately 50 years.
