Motion approving On and Off-sale Intoxicating and 3.2 Malt Liquor, Wine, Club, Sunday, Non-enclosed Premise (Patio), Culinary, Brewery/Taproom Liquor License renewals effective May 1, 2025, through April 30, 2026.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Motion approving liquor license renewals.
Summary:
Under Chapter 4 of the Mankato City Code, liquor licenses renew on May 1 of each year. Applications have been submitted and background checks of all owners/applicants, managers and local contacts have been completed. A background investigation of all persons and premises described reveals nothing to preclude renewal of licenses.
In 2024, alcohol compliance checks were completed with five (5) failures occurring based upon 76 checks (Jake’s Stadium Pizza; MC’s Garage; MCHS Event Center; Sam's Club; and Shogun). Each establishment received a strike against their license and a $500 civil penalty. Complimentary training by Mankato Public Safety was offered to all establishments that failed the compliance check.
Recently, follow-up checks were completed for the establishments that previously failed, and thus needed the required six-month recheck and all the establishments passed.
