Motion approving change orders for All Seasons Arena.

Motion approving change orders

Staff is recommending approval of the following change orders. The All Seasons Arena Board approved this at their April 11^th meeting.
 
Met-Con, Trade Package 1A
Change Order #12, $11,338.88
CO #12 includes the following:

• Addition of a photo eye to control the lighting function of the new exterior signage
• Additional structural steel for the east bearing wall under the existing north rink mezzanine
• Modifications to the designed footings for the new seating mezzanine structure which required drilling and doweling in rebar for the new footings
• Saw cutting and removal of former foundation walls in the excavation area of the new footings

 
Rink Tec, Trade Package 13A
Change Order #7, $40,000.00
CO #7 includes the following:

• After removal of the north rink slab, it was discovered that the aggregate material under the existing slab was not suitable for the new rink to be built on. The contract included a unit price for the removal and replacement of the material which will total roughly 800 tons of new sand.

 
Laketown Electric, Trade Package 26A
Change Order #8, $15,670.48
CO #8 includes the following:

• Relocation of electrical conduits that run along the existing wall separating the lobby from the north rink – with the wall being relocated these conduits will need to move to the new wall location
• Relocation of existing conduits and lights in the south rink Zamboni room for installation of the new ships ladder

 
The above change orders total an increase of $67,009.36. If approved, the contingency will be decreased to $169,123.06.
