Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the purchase of 2 new vehicles for the Parks Department. (Christopher Kasid, Parks and Recreation Director)
SUMMARY:
Parks Department is requesting 2 new vehicles to add to their fleet.
1. A Ford F-250 4X4 is needed to haul the new heavy equipment like the Boom Lift and Scissors Lift.
2. A new F-150 Super Crew Cab can fit 6 passengers and will help with hauling more lawn mowing equipment as well as transporting Parks crew and Prison Labor Crew to one destination.
This was a budgeted item of $68,000.00. These vehicles are available from Chapman Ford in Scottsdale Arizona for a total of only $61,636.77 by utilizing a state contract #ADSP012-016662. Under the San Luis Code City for purchasing, section 36.01(G), the City may utilize a state contract to acquire equipment. When utilizing a state contract, the public treasury is protected in that the state bargained for a good price and the City is able to use the same contract.

I MOVE TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A FORD F-250 4X4 AND FORD F-150 SUPER CREW CAB IN AN AMOUNT OF $61,636.77 THROUGH THE STATE CONTRACT AS PRESENTED.
