ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the First Reading of Ordinance No. 345. An ordinance of the Mayor and Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, amending Section 34.05(E) of the City Code relating to Municipal Court Probation Fees; repealing any conflicting provisions; and providing for severability. (Magistrate Rosendo Morales, Jr.)

Also, the proposed ordinance and the current code is provided in the attachment.
This ordinance is designed to reflect current trends in probation practices and with the proposed fees will off-set the cost of carrying out services to probationers. The Court will impose these fees as a condition of probation unless under existing City Code procedures the Court determines the inability of the probationer to pay and imposes a lesser fee. Compliance Officers will ensure that probationers will comply with their conditions of probation as imposed by the Court.

This Ordinance increases the fees associated with probation and it is expected that this increase will better offset the costs associated with the Court's probation programs.
