An Ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, requiring dog licenses, declaring the document titled "The 2024 Restatement and Amendment to the San Luis City Code-Animal Control," a public record and adopting it by reference; fixing an effective date; imposing penalties for violations; repealing conflicting provisions; and providing for severability. SUMMARY:
Background
Ordinance 445 authorized the city to issue dog licenses on September 25, 2023. On March 13, 2024, Ordinance 447 repealed the Ordinance due to costs.
It was noticed that the repeal removed the requirement for dog licenses and rabies vaccinations.
This Ordinance No. 455
Ordinance No. 455 is now before the City Council. The ordinance restores the requirements for dog licenses and rabies vaccinations and restates Chapter 6.05 to harmonize the definitions throughout the chapter.
