Resolution
ITEM:
Discussion and possible action of adoption of Resolution No. 1101, a Resolution of the City of San Luis approving an intergovernmental agreement between the City of San Luis and the State of Arizona Department of Revenue. (Ketie St. Louis)
SUMMARY:
Local Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) administration was recently modified for the purpose of tax simplification with House Bill 2111 and 2013 and House Bill 2389 in 2014. For this reason, the Arizona Department of Revenue is required to administer the TPT and use taxes imposed by all entities and to enter into a new inter-governmental agreement with each city and town to reflect these changes.
RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO APPROVE AND ADOPT RESOLUTION 1101 AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT AS PRESENTED BETWEEN THE CITY OF SAN LUIS AND THE STATE OF ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE FOR THE UNIFORM METHODS FOR HANDLING EXCISE TAXES IMPOSED BY THE STATE AND THE CITY.
