ITEM:

Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding ratifying a contract supplement for a Judge Pro Tempore/Administrative Manager for the San Luis Municipal Court. (Kay Marion Macuil, City Attorney)

SUMMARY:

This contract supplement adds an unintentionally omitted provision to the Contract for Judge Pro Tempore/Administrative Manager fo approved by the San Luis City Council on June 8, 2016.  (Please see the attachments for the original contract).  The original intent of the contract was to compensate the Judge Pro Tempore/Administrative Manager for the reasonable commute time traveling  between Wellton and San Luis Municipal Court to perform the official duties of the appointment.

The Presiding Superior Court Judge for Yuma County appointed the Judge Pro Tempore/Administrative Manager for the San Luis Municipal Court by Administrative Order 2016-20 under the authority of the Administrative Office of the Court Administrative Order 2016-25 (Please see attachments for the orders).  Since the commute time provision was not in the Administrative Orders, the City Attorney did not find out that it was contemplated to be part of the contract until after the June 8 Council Meeting.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE AND RATIFY THE CONTRACT SUPPLEMENT WITH CORA ROMINE FOR JUDGE PRO TEMPORE/ ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER AS PRESENTED.
