ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 1164. A resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, approving Intergovernmental Agreement of the 4-FrontED Bi-national Program to support Economic Development in the Greater Yuma Region and repealing Resolution No. 1155. (Jenny Torres, Community Development Director)
SUMMARY:
The City of San Luis and its member agencies composed of the City of Yuma, City of Somerton, Town of Wellton and Yuma County expressed an interest in establishing a bi-national economic development program to promote growth and expand economic opportunities to the 4FrontED region. The County and Cities shall contribute funding to meet the programs goals. The funding mechanism approved by all member agencies is twenty cents (.20¢) per capita using the 2015 population census estimate. The City's contribution for this effort is $6,800.00. Resolution No. 1164 will adopt the new changes to the IGA as previously approved through Resolution No. 1155 by the City Council on August 10, 2016.
