ITEM:
Discussion and possible directions to staff on any and all matters regarding re-appointment or appointment of directors to the San Luis Municipal Property Corporation. (Kay Marion Macuil, City Attorney)
SUMMARY:
This item is before the Council to re-appoint or appoint new directors to the board of the San Luis Municipal Property Corporation. Terms of all 5 directors have expired.
Eligibility: Directors must be residents of San Luis Arizona.
Current Directors: Current Directors in alphabetical order are:
Luis Cabrera
Antonio Carrillo
Joel Castro
Eduardo Vazquez (Mr. Vazquez has indicated he will not be able to continue to serve)
Ruben Walshe
San Luis Residents interested in serving
Martin Martinez - Campesinos Sin Fronteras
Cecilia Torres - PPEP
Background of Corporation: The San Luis Municipal Property Corporation was created in 1983 under Arizona Revised Statute Title 10, which allows any entity or person to create a non-profit corporation. It is the oldest of the three (3) Municipal Corporations the City created.
Purpose: The purpose of this Corporation is to acquire, construct reconstruct or to aid in the development or improvement of buildings and other real property and personal property suitable for leasing or sale.
Status: No current projects but kept current with annual meetings to be available if a project develops suitable for this Corporation.
