ITEM:

Discussion and possible directions to staff on any and all matters regarding the Roadway Naming and Addressing Policy. (Jose A. Guzman, Acting Director of Planning & Zoning)

SUMMARY:

As discussed during the City Council Work Session held on October 14, 2017, the Roadway Naming and Addressing Policy draft is attached. 

The purpose of this policy is to provide a standardized and expedient method of assigning roadway name designations and property addresses for all residential, commercial and industrial lots, parcels and/or tracts throughout the City of San Luis. This policy also provides the procedures, criteria and approval process for renaming of roadways within the city. 

The main goal of this policy is to provide emergency service agencies with a logical and predictable method of addressing property, so that emergency victims can be located with greatest efficiency.
