ITEM:
Discussion and possible directions to staff on any and all matters regarding a concept proposal to expand wastewater treatment capacity/capabilities for the City of San Luis. (Eulogio Vera, Director of Public Works)
SUMMARY:
The Public Works Department has retained a professional consultant (Pace Advanced Water Engineering) to complete a conceptual analysis of our wastewater capacity and capabilities, in response to the dramatic population growth in the City of San Luis and the resultant need for the city to appropriately plan for additional wastewater treatment capacity. The conceptual analysis will result in recommendations as to what can/should be done to the plants to increase capacity. Since we need to design wastewater treatment plant expansion soon, we need expert recommendations as to which plant should be expanded first and the most cost-effective manner of doing so. The agenda will include a briefing of Pace’s initial conclusion and recommendations for the City Council's information and potential direction.
