Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding a budget for Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) Cancer Center Hispanic Support Group, Inc., for Fiscal Year 2021-2022. (Tadeo A. De La Hoya, City Manager)
SUMMARY:
Service: Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) Cancer Center Hispanic Support Group provides support and guidance to cancer patients, their families, and loved ones. YRMC Cancer Center participants from Yuma County are mostly from the City of San Luis and the City of Somerton. The city's funds will benefit those in the group who are residents of San Luis and no more than 5% of the funds for outreach in San Luis regarding the support group. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the support group was unable to meet in person nor hold their annual pageant. So the group did not request the funds budgeted for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
Amount: At the June 2, 2021, San Luis City Council Work Session, the City Council directed staff to budget $5,000.00 for a possible future request for funds for Fiscal Year 2021-2022. If the funds are requested, the city will enter into a contract for the services.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
I MOVE TO APPROVE THE BUDGET FOR YUMA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,000.00 FOR THE CANCER CENTER HISPANIC SUPPORT GROUP.
