Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the transfer of funds for building maintenance for the San Luis Police Department. (Nigel Reynoso, Acting Chief of Police)

SUMMARY:

The San Luis Police Department is requesting the transfer of $17,100.00, from account 255-021-90050.228 (Capital Outlay-ARPA) to 100-999-89000 (Non Capital Projects). These funds were allocated for the purchase of Police Department motorcycles, and remain in the account unused after the purchase. The Police Department was able to get a bargain for the three (3) motorcycles needed, and still had money left over in the account.

We are currently looking to expand the office of our Quality Assurance Unit in the Administration Division and will need to do construction in the Amberly's Place office of the Police Department to make this happen. This addition will allow the Police Department to keep Amberly's Place at this location while allowing for the remodeling of the area used by both Amberly's Place and Quality Assurance. The quote for the construction is a total of $10,300.00. We are requesting the full $17,100 in case any additional funds are needed during the construction process.

The Finance Department reviewed the proposed transfer of funds and found it to be an appropriate use of ARPA funds.

RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:

I MOVE TO APPROVE THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $17,100.00 FROM ACCOUNT 255-021-90050.228 TO ACCOUNT 100-999-89000 AS PRESENTED TO PROCEED WITH THE BUILDING MAINTENANCE IMPROVEMENTS AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT.

The San Luis Police Department was awarded $137,100 for a CIP purchase and $17,100 is remaining after the purchase. We are requesting to transfer the remaining funds to account 100-999-89000.
