Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding the establishment of an MOU with CBP to assist in training their Emergency Medical Technicians. (Angel Ramirez, Fire Chief)
SUMMARY:
The City of San Luis Fire Department is pleased to announce the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) aimed at enhancing the emergency response capabilities of their personnel. Through this agreement, our department will provide specialized training to CBP's Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), ensuring they are equipped with the latest medical protocols and techniques. This collaboration not only strengthens the overall safety and well-being of our community, but also fosters a closer working relationship between our local first responders and federal agencies. By sharing our expertise and resources, we are taking a significant step towards improving the quality of emergency medical care available at our borders.
RECOMMENDATION / SUGGESTED MOTION:
