Resolution
ITEM:
Discussion and possible action on any and all matters regarding Resolution No. 2387. A resolution of the Mayor and City Council of the City of San Luis, Arizona, declaring as a public record that certain document filed with the City Clerk and entitled “City of San Luis Subdivision Regulations” of the San Luis City Code, relating to the update of the rules and regulations relating to subdivisions within the City of San Luis and amending the San Luis City Code by repealing and replacing Title 17. (Jose A. Guzman, Director of Development Services)
SUMMARY:
The Development Services Department has completed the updated City of San Luis Subdivision Regulations, which will replace the regulations that have been in place since 2002. As the City continues to grow, it is important that our subdivision standards reflect today’s development needs and support better infrastructure planning, neighborhood design, and overall growth management.
Before the updated regulations can be adopted through the ordinance that follows, state law requires that the document first be declared a public record. This resolution simply makes the updated Subdivision Regulations an official public record on file with the City Clerk so they can be adopted by reference in the next agenda item. Declaring the document a public record ensures transparency and also helps the City avoid the cost of publishing the full text of the regulations, which is a large document.
This step must be approved before the ordinance can move forward.
