Title
Adopt Resolution #20-144 Approving Change Order #1 for The COR Infiltration Basin, Improvement Project #18-09
Purpose/Background:
Purpose:
The purpose of this case is to adopt Resolution #20-144 approving Change Order #1 for The COR Infiltration Basin Improvements, Improvement Project #18-09.
Background:
The purpose of Change Order #1 in the amount of $1,500 is to allow the contractor for The COR Infiltration Basin, Northern Lines Contracting, Inc., to install muskrat protection shielding on the lift station float lines since muskrats sometimes enter stormwater lift stations and damage float lines by chewing on them, which the approved plans and specifications did not account for.
If this shielding is not installed and muskrats enter the lift station and damage the float lines by chewing on them it will cost significantly more than $1,500 to repair the lines. In addition, if the float lines are damaged the lift station could be rendered inoperable for a period of time.
A copy of Change Order #1 is attached including the Contractor's and the City Engineer's signatures.
The work covered by this Change Order has not been completed. No extension of time is approved as part of Change Order #1.
Payment for work covered by Change Order #1 will be paid with stormwater utility funds, similar to the rest of the work completed with this project.
