Title:
Introduce ordinances #13-12, #13-13 and #13-14 AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF RAMSEY TO SELL/CONVEY SURPLUS CITY OWNED LAND
Background:
The City Council discussed a case tonight (5/28) in Worksession regarding an economic development prospect known as Foxtrot.
Prospect Foxtrot is interested in purchasing three City owned parcels. In order to sell said three parcels, the City Council is required to pass a land sale ordinance. The purpose of this case is to introduce a ordinance to sell surplus City owned land; technically, three separate ordinances for three separate parcels.
Please note: passing an ordinance to sell City owned land does not OBLIGATE the Council to sell property. Passing a land sale ordinance ENABLES the Council to sell City owned property. Due to Prospect Foxtrot's timeline, and the lengthy process required to pass an ordinance, Staff recommends the Council complete this step ahead of time. The Council will have a chance to review/approve a purchase agreement with Prospect Foxtrot in the coming weeks (including land sale price, other terms, etc.).
