Title:
Presentation of the Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting for Year Ending December 31, 2012. Presented by the MN Government Finance Officers Association State Representative Brenda Davitt
Purpose/Background:
The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the City of Ramsey the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the year ending December 31, 2012. This is the 19th consecutive year (1994-2012) the City of Ramsey has received this distinguished award.
Established in 1945, the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program encourages government entities to go beyond the maximum requirements of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that promote transparency and full disclosure. A Certificate of Achievement represents the highest award in governmental financial reporting.
The City of Ramsey is one of only 102 other Minnesota cities to receive this recognition for reporting year 2012.
