Title:
Adopt Resolution 13-03-062 Proclaiming May 18, 2013 as Arbor Day and the Month of May as Arbor Month.
Background:
As part of the Tree City USA requirements, the City must adopt an Arbor Day proclamation. In Minnesota, Arbor Day is officially observed on the last Friday in April and the month of May is recognized as Arbor Month, however, a City may designate any day they wish as Arbor Day in their community. The City will be installing the remainder of the landscaping in North Commons, with the assistance of volunteers, on May 18, 2013. Thus, the attached resolution proclaims May 18, 2013 as Arbor Day in the City of Ramsey and the month of May as Arbor Month.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends approving the resolution proclaiming May 18, 2013 as Arbor Day in the City of Ramsey and the month of May as Arbor Month.
Council Action:
Motion to adopt Resolution 13-03-062 proclaiming May 18, 2013 as Arbor Day in the City of Ramsey and the month of May as Arbor Month.
