ACTION REQUESTED:
Approval to utilize Roswell Independent School District (SRO) monies up to $90,000 to purchase Real Time Crime Center cameras and equipment. It will be reimbursed from the State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) grant. (Corn/Aldana)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Albert Aldana, Deputy Chief
The Roswell Police department obtained reimbursement from RISD for the School Resource Officers within the school district. The total amount was $100,000 which was obtained, deposited, and transferred to RPD account. The money requested, which is only $90,000, will be used to purchase cameras and equipment for the Real Time Crime Center. Funding Source - the money will be reimbursed by the State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) grant.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION
Monies used from our account will be reimbursed by the grant and placed back into our account. Awaiting approval from the Finance committee meeting.
LEGAL REVIEW:
No Legal review required at this time.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
At Public Safety meeting on 11/19/24, it was voted (4-0), to send to Finance Committee. Finance Committee recommended approval (4-0) to send to City Council at their meeting on 12/5/24.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Consider recommending approval to utilize Roswell Independent School District (SRO) monies up to $90,000 to purchase Real Time Crime Center cameras and equipment. It will be reimbursed from the State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) grant.
