Consider recommending approval for ratification of PO 22502347 in the amount of $460,040.72 to CES for fencing for secure site for ARFF prop location at the Air Center. (Gonzalez)
- Funding Source Account 51004334-817504 Grant 22-G-2774
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Omar Gonzalez
The Roswell Fire Department is utilizing grant funds allocated for Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) training purposes. As part of this initiative, we are securing a site for a permanent ARFF prop location. To ensure the safety, security, and proper management of this training environment, we are purchasing temporary fencing and K-rail to establish a controlled perimeter around the training area. The fencing and K-rail will serve to: Clearly define the training zone; Restrict unauthorized access which is a requirement of the TSA and ensures only approved personnel are present; Maintain compliance with safety standards by creating a designated and restricted operational area; Protect both the equipment and participants during training evolutions. While this fencing and K-rail will be used initially for a mobile training prop, it will also serve a long-term purpose. The fencing can be used for multiple future projects, including the development of an ARFF training prop or other specialized training environments. This flexibility ensures continued value and maximizes the impact of the grant funding for several years.
