ACTION REQUESTED:
Consider the recommendation of the Not of This World Flag Football’s Sling It Fling It Tournament Lodgers' Tax Funding Request to City Council in the amount of $18,500 for marketing, sanitation, and security, and open negotiations with the City of Roswell for sponsorship. (Conyers)
BACKGROUND:

From their application: Sling it Fling it 2026 will be our 5th year as a local committee running this event. This is a flag football tournament that is held in Roswell, New Mexico. This is a 4 on 4 tournament that has brought in over 100 teams in previous years and is continuing to grow each year. The tournament is held Memorial Day Weekend.

The Occupancy Tax board recommended (5-0) to award Sling It Fling It Flag Football Tournament $18,500 for marketing and $15,000 in sponsorship at their July 22, 2025, meeting
