Consider the approval of a budget adjustment in the General Operating Budget of the Roswell Public Library at the amount of $18,504.00 to pay for utilities costs. (Costley)

On February 5, 2026 the Roswell Public Library was alerted by the Finance Department that more funds were needed to pay the electric bill.  There are 5(five) more months in FY2026 and the budgeted funds are not available.  The average cost of the Roswell Public Library electric bill is $3,700.77 per month.  The Roswell Public Library has had several unexpected expenses this fiscal year for which we made hard decisions and transferred funds to allow for repairs to the HVAC System, replace 6 (six) cracked skylights and make repairs to the fire sprinkler system.

See Fiscal Impact below. Our gifts and donated funds are restricted and may not be used to pay the electric bills.  The Roswell Public Library does not have funds in its operating budget to cover these costs.
