ACTION REQUESTED:
Consider approval for airfield painting and striping services with Desert West Enterprises, LLC, at the Roswell Air Center, in the amount of $377,891.20, through CES Cooperative Contract 2026-06-R1239-ALL. (Cavin/Gonzalez)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Omar Gonzalez
The City of Roswell received funding from the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) to support runway and taxiway striping at the Roswell Air Center. During a recent FAA inspection, deficiencies were identified in the condition of existing pavement markings. Addressing these deficiencies is necessary to maintain compliance with FAA standards.
Flooding contributed to the deterioration of the markings, as floodwaters removed the glass beads that provide reflectivity for nighttime visibility.
Desert West Enterprises, LLC, through CES Cooperative Contracting, is able to meet the required project timeline and provide the necessary services to complete the work and address the inspection findings.
