Approval of the FY27 Proposed Budget. (Gass/Yntema)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Hess Yntema
Per Resolution 25-50, the City Manager has presented the FY27 Proposed Budget to the Infrastructure, Legal, Public Safety, and Finance Committee for review. These committees were responsible for reviewing departmental budgets and referring their recommendation to the Finance Committee.
This item was tabled at the April 2, 2026 Finance Committee Meeting. The Finance Committee held a Special Finance Committee Meeting on April 27 and continued on April 28 to review the budget. The Finance Committee on May 07, 2026, referred this item to City Council, per Resolution 25-50, with the recommendation to refer back to a Special Finance Committee meeting on May 21, 2026 with a 5-0 vote.

BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The FY27 Proposed Budget was presented at the March 16, 2026, Infrastructure Committee, the March 17, 2026, Public Safety Committee, and the March 26, 2026, Legal Committee. The Finance Committee tabled this item at the April 02, 2026, meeting. A Special Finance Committee was held on April 27, 2026, and continued on April 28, 2026, for review of the budget. The Finance Committee on May 07, 2026, referred this item to City Council, per Resolution 25-50, with the recommendation to refer back to a Special Finance Committee meeting on May 21, 2026 with a 5-0 vote.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends discussion and direction on next steps for the FY27 Proposed Budget in alignment with the timeline and process established in Resolution 25-50.
