Approval of a budget adjustment for SkyWest Airlines / United Express in the amount of $748,617.26 pursuant to the Transportation Services Agreement with Roswell Air Center for the continued provision of scheduled nonstop jet service between Roswell Air Center (ROW) and Denver International Airport (DEN), with eligible costs to be submitted for reimbursement through the U.S. Department of Transportation Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP) Grant. (Corn/Thompson)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Bobbi Thompson
SkyWest Airlines, Inc. submitted Invoice No. 526231 for Quarter 1 2026 subsidy payments pursuant to the Transportation Services Agreement between Roswell Air Center and SkyWest Airlines for the provision of scheduled nonstop jet service.
This payment supports the continuation and stabilization of commercial air service for Roswell and the surrounding southeastern New Mexico region in alignment with the objectives of the U.S. Department of Transportation Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP). The SCASDP grant was awarded to support and retain daily air service connectivity between Roswell Air Center and a national hub airport through an approved revenue guarantee and air service support initiative.
Reliable commercial air service provides significant public benefit by improving regional and national connectivity for residents, businesses, visitors, medical travelers, and governmental operations. Continued nonstop service to Denver International Airport enhances economic development opportunities, supports tourism and business activity, and improves access to the national transportation network throughout southeastern New Mexico.
