ACTION REQUESTED:
Consider adoption of Resolution 26-XX Roswell Transit FY2028 Financial Commitment. (Hicks)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Becky Hicks
On August 17, 2028, the NMDOT opened the Transit Section 5311 grant application for FY2028. The application process includes a Resolution from the governing body of the City of Roswell for financial support. The application is due by October 2, 2026. Due to this unusual timeline, we were unable to present the request to Infrastructure Committee prior to Finance and City Council. This Resolution is required by NMDOT every year.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION:
There is no immediate financial impact associated with this item. Roswell Transit will go through the normal budgeting process in the spring of 2027 for FY2028. Please see attachment for financial breakdown, i.e. federal and local match.
LEGAL REVIEW:
Resolution 26-XX must be adopted by a majority vote of the entire City Council.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Finance Committee is the first and only committee to vote on this Resolution ahead of City Council.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Proceed as presented.
