BACKGROUND:

The Solid Waste department was originally allocated $563,617.19 to purchase a new Battle truck from Bond Equipment. In talking with Bond to get a quote for the truck for this year the department was informed that there was not a delivery date for the vehicle and that it would not come this fiscal year at all. In talks with the Collection Supervisor it was agreed that the trucks that are remaining that we would instead do a rebuild for them to last longer. The Solid Waste Department is asking for the following budget adjustment:
  • $200,000 to 52004341-614012 (M&R Vehicle) for the rebuilding of the two trucks
  • $49,950 to stay in 52004341-817505 (Capital Outlay - Equipment) and purchase an Isuzu Truck to be turned into a container truck
  • $64,499 to 52004341-735613 (Material-3 yard Metal Container) for purchasing 40 6-yard front load containers and 9 8-yard front load containers. Doing this will change the majority of the city from rearload to front load operations.
