Discussion and possible action to adopt a Resolution regarding Webb County’s relationship with the City of Laredo in connection with the Columbia Solidarity Bridge for the upcoming expansion and authorizing the County's co-signature on the presidential permit application. [Requested by City of Laredo, no effect on the budget]
Background:
The original presidential permit for the Columbia Solidarity Bridge was jointly sponsored by the City of Laredo and the County of Webb. The County was never removed from the permit. Instead of going through the process of removing the County from the permit and delaying the expansion project and because the County is required by the U.S. State Department to co-sign the application the County is being asked by the City to co-sign the Presidential Permit for the expansion of the bridge.
