Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of fourteen (14) in-car video systems with body-worn cameras to include a five-year subscription of cloud services from Motorola Solutions (Cooperative Contract No. 39000-DIR-CPO-5433) for Constable Office Precinct 2–4 for an amount not to exceed $27,693.00 for first year subscription which includes all equipment, installation, software, and programming pursuant to Texas Local Government Code; §271.101 and §271.102, Subchapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-1130-001-470000 (Capital Outlay)]
Issue: Constable Office Precincts 2-4 require in-car video systems with body-worn cameras for their respective leased police units currently being upfitted by Enterprise Fleet Management. Motorola will not provide bundle pricing directly to Enterprise unless the entire cost for the five (5) years is paid upfront by Enterprise. That aftermarket equipment cost would have a significant impact on the monthly lease rates.
Solution: Consideration to authorize the allocation of funding not to exceed $27,693.00 for the purchase of equipment and cloud service for year one during fiscal year 2025 for the fourteen (14) leased police units (renewals only).
Results: If approved, a purchase Order will be issued to Motorola by the Purchasing Agent for the recommended sums. Webb County will be billed annually for the continuation of cloud services during the approved term of five (5) years.
