Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal requests for proposals for a thirteen (13) month service agreement for GPS trackers for fifty (90) Webb County Sheriff’s Office patrol units to include but not limited to ten (10) GPS tracking devices, dual facing cameras, monthly services and other related hardware pursuant to the Local Government Code; §262.030 Alternative Competitive Proposal Procedure for Certain Goods and Services and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: The Webb County Sheriff’s Office seeks to utilize GPS trackers in the patrol units to enhance officer and public safety, improve response times, and streamline fleet management and resource allocation.
 
Solution: Consideration to authorize the Purchasing Agent to secure formal competitive proposals for these services to be effective from date of execution of service agreement until September 30, 2026.
 
Result: Trackers and cameras in patrol units allows for real-time location tracking, improved response times, enhanced officer safety, efficient fleet management, and provides valuable data for strategic planning and resource allocation.
