Discussion with possible action to authorize an exception and waive the fee for B&T Management Organization in regards to the rental of the Webb County Fairgrounds roping arena on Friday, October 24th and Saturday, October 25th for their 3rd Annual DPS Troopers Burn and Turn Fundraising Event; and any other matters incident thereto. [Sponsored by Pct. 2 Commissioner Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina]
Issue: B&T Management Organization, the fundraising arm of the Texas DPS Trooper Foundation, is requesting an In-Kind Sponsorship of the fairgrounds roping arena for their annual fundraising event to be held in Webb County on October 24th & 25th.
Solution: Each member of the Commissioners Court is allowed to sponsor one event per fiscal year of a non-profit of their choice. Commissioner Tijerina will sponsor this event being requested.
Result: in-Kind sponsorship of this non-profit event will allow their foundation to raise money that goes directly to the DPS Trooper Foundation Fund.
