Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of forty-seven (47) Invictus Discreet Rifle - Rated Ballistic Shield for five (5) County buildings in the downtown area from Kirkpatrick Guns and Ammo, Inc. Issue: An initiative to enhance public safety by increasing physical security measures that protect Webb County employees, visitors, and first responders from potential ballistic threats.    

Solution: Authorize the purchase of forty-seven (47) certified ballistic shields to be installed at five (5) Webb County buildings located in the downtown area from a reputable vendor providing cooperative pricing complying with the competitive bidding requirements of the State of Texas.     

Result: Ballistic shields are integrated into the overall security and emergency response plans, contributing to a more secure public facility.
