Discussion and possible action to enter into a demolition agreement with Midas Contractors, LLC for the demolition of improvements on county-owned real property located at 918 and 920 Houston Street in an amount not to exceed THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($39,950.00) and any other matters incident thereto, and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-1130-001-470000 (General Fund Operating Exp-Administration-Capital Outlay]

Issue: At its meeting of April 14, 2025, the Commissioners Court authorized the demolition of the county-owned dilapidated building structures at 918 and 920 Houston Street, Laredo, Texas 78040 and authorized the Purchasing Agent to issue an Invitation to Bid for the demolition work.
 
Solution: At its September 22, 2025 meeting, the Commissioners Court awarded Invitation to Bid (ITB) 2025-015 “Demolition of Webb County Properties” to the lowest bidder, Midas Contractors, LLC.
 
Result: The Contractor will substantially complete the project within forty-five (45) calendar days from the issuance of the “Notice to Proceed” by the Engineering Department.
