Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise a Request for Qualifications for a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer for design development, preparation of construction documents and construction administration throughout the duration of the project for the removal and installation of new HVAC air handler units at the Webb County Jail in accordance with TCJS Facility standards and pursuant to the Professional Services Procurement Act and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-1130-001-432001 (General Fund Professional Services)]
 
Issue: The jail facility HVAC return air ductwork and supply fans located within the air handle units are not operating effectively.  Impacting proper circulation throughout the building. 
 
Solution: Authorize the Webb County Purchasing Agent to secure a statement of qualifications from MEP engineering firms/individuals to provide services for the preparation of construction documents and construction administration. 
 
Result: If approved, the publication of the RFQ will be initiated by the Purchasing Agent.
