Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise an Invitation to Bid to secure competitive pricing from qualified contractors to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to remove and replace approximately seventeen (17) HVAC air handler units at the Webb County Jail facility.  The work shall be performed in accordance with the sealed engineering plans and specifications prepared by a licensed professional engineer and shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local codes, including the Texas Commission on Jail Standards (TCJS) requirements and pursuant to the Texas Government Code, Section 2269 - Competitive Bidding and any other and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: The jail facility HVAC return air ductwork and supply fans located within the air handle units are not operating effectively.  Impacting proper circulation throughout the building. 
 
Solution: Authorize the Webb County Purchasing Agent to secure competitive sealed bids from qualified contractors for the removal and installation of requested HVAC air handler units at the Webb County Jail facility. 
 
Result: If approved, the publication of the Invitation to Bid will be initiated by the Purchasing Agent contingent upon the completion and submission of sealed plans/specifications by the project engineer.
