Discussion and possible action to authorize the sale of the following handguns to retiring Deputies from the Webb County Sheriff’s Office in the amount of One hundred dollars ($100.00) each, pursuant to the Texas Government Code §614.051 (PURCHASE OF FIREARM BY HONORABLY RETIRED PEACE OFFICER) and any other matters incident thereto:

Issue: The Peace Officers have retired from the Webb County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheriff would like to present their guns to them as a show of appreciation for their years of service to the Webb County Sheriff’s Office. The Texas Government Code §614.051 permits government entities to sell the issued weapon that was assigned to the peace officer.
 
Solution: Authorize the sale of subject weapons to the honorably retired peace officers in accordance with Texas Gov. Code requirements.
 
Result: The peace officers will receive the firearms presented to them as a token of appreciation.
