Discussion and possible action to authorize the submission of a grant application for a FY 2026-27 Meals on Wheels Loves Pets grant program in the amount estimated at $15,000.00 as prepared, written, and submitted by the CAA grant writer in collaboration with CAA management and submitted to the Meals on Wheels America National Organization for dog and cat food to assist clients/ participants enrolled in the Webb County Meals on Wheels Program with their pet food needs; and designating the Webb County Judge as the authorized official to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant requires no cash match; and, thus will have no impact to the general fund.  All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: There is an opportunity to be able to assist currently participating Meals on Wheels clients with their pet food needs. 
 
Solution: Proposed supplemental grant application will allow expanded capacity for the Meals on Wheels Program to assist clients with their dogs’ and cats’ nourishment needs.
 
Result: Community Action Agency (CAA) and its Meals on Wheels Program will be able to provide this added service for its clients who own cats and/or dogs.
