Discussion and possible action to award Invitation to Bid 2026-005 "Speed Cushion Installation for Los Altos Dr. and Oilton, Texas" to the lowest responsible bidder CID Group, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $110,463.32 pursuant to the Texas Government Code; Sub-Chapter C. (Competitive Bidding Method) and to further authorize General Counsel to prepare the construction contract and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: Oilton City residents have voiced concerns regarding automobiles speeding in the area on all sides of the park along the following county roads: Mackin Avenue, Welhausen Road, Jim Neal Avenue and Torrecillas Road.
Solution: Consideration to award to the lowest responsible bidder; CID Group, Inc., the contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, traffic control, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the installation of speed cushions in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by the Webb County Engineering Department.
Result: This project will reduce vehicular speeds, improve roadway safety, and enhance neighborhood traffic conditions while maintaining emergency vehicle accessibility.
