Discussion and possible action to authorize the Webb County Human Resources Department (Department) to create a payroll code for the automatic deduction from the paycheck of active members of The Webb County Deputy Sheriff’s Association (“Association”) for the Association’s Individual Ancillary Products and Insurance Services (“Services”) in accordance with Texas Local Government Code Section 155.061, and as such all contracts for services between Service providers and Association will not be managed or solicited by Webb County, Texas; this request by the Association is only for a paycheck deduction from the active members of the Association and will not impact the general fund or budget.
 
Issue: Active members of The Webb County Deputy Sheriff’s Association currently do not have the option to use a payroll deduction to obtain individual ancillary products through the Association.

Solution: Authorize the Webb County Human Resources Department to establish a payroll deduction code for active Association members in accordance with Texas Local Government Code Section 155.061.

Result: Approval will allow Human Resources to create a payroll code authorizing active members to voluntarily enroll in payroll deductions, with no impact on County funds or the County budget.
