Discussion and possible action to authorize the County Purchasing Agent to advertise and solicit sealed proposals for Security Guard Services for the Webb County Southern Public Health Facility in accordance with Texas Local Government Code Chapter 262, including applicable competitive procurement requirements, and to require all respondents to comply with Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1702, Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Program licensing requirements, pursuant to the Texas Local Government Code; §262.030 Alternative Competitive Proposal Procedure for Certain Goods and Services and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: The facility is located in a semi-remote area, creating a need for dedicated security services to ensure the safety and protection of employees, visitors, and county property. Authorization to solicit proposals will allow the County to identify and secure qualified vendors capable of providing appropriate onsite security coverage.
 
Solution: Consideration to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit formal sealed proposals in accordance with §262.030 Alternative Competitive Proposal Procedure for Certain Goods and Services to secure competitive proposals from interested companies meeting the state licensing requirements and, if requested by the County, to obtain the best and final offer. 
 
Result: If approved, an RFP will be posted by the Purchasing Agent to secure sealed proposals for evaluation and final approval by the Webb County Commissioners Court.
